UUP MLA Sandra Overend had said the Twelfth has significant tourist potential for Northern Ireland and praised the efforts of loyal orders for opening up the event to others.
The Mid Ulster MLA said the annual demonstrations were on of the best supported events in Northern Ireland.
She also paid tribute to the Orangemen who helped organise the parades.
“The annual Twelfth of July celebrations are always a brilliant occasion, and with the superb weather forecast for this week, once again promise to be a fantastic day out for all the family,” she said.
“I know that people travel from all over the world to attend the Twelfth of July celebrations in Northern Ireland and I am of the opinion that Northern Ireland can and should share this event and encourage those who have never been, to come along and enjoy the festivities.
“I recognise the efforts put in by the Loyal Orange Lodges behind the scenes to help create a festival atmosphere open to all, and to work to help others to understand our cultures and traditions, and I am sure that this work will continue.
“I would also wish all Mid-Ulster constituents whether attending the Magherafelt demonstration, where I look forward to attending with my husband and children, or Castlecaulfield, along with my parents and siblings, a successful and enjoyable Twelfth.
“This event is a great chance to take in the atmosphere and get out and about and speak to constituents about the issues which concern them.”
