Ulster Unionist Assembly Member for Mid-Ulster, Sandra Overend, has paid her respects to those murdered by the IRA at the Teebane Massacre on the 23rd anniversary of the atrocity.
Mrs Overend said, “It has been twenty three years since the IRA murdered 8 men, and injured 6 more in a despicable and appalling act of terrorism at the Teebane junction. As another anniversary of the deaths of these men passes, the pain felt by their friends and family will not, and my thoughts and prayers are with them at this time.
“This cowardly attack has left a lasting effect on the community in Mid-Ulster, which is only exacerbated by the fact that no-one has been brought to justice for the bombing. Unfortunately, it is a recurring theme from Mid-Ulster during the Troubles. It is shameful that there are individuals who know who carried out this attack and will not come forward.
“My thoughts are with those victims, and the families of those who lost loved ones, at this time.”
