A FIRE in the Westland Road area of Cookstown may have been started deliberately, police have said.
It is understtod the blaze broke out in an unoccupied property on Sunday night.
“Police would urge owners to take steps to secure their buildings against unauthorised entry. The risks posed to adjoining houses or business premises and to those who choose to enter unoccupied houses should be all too obvious.
“As well as being vulnerable to criminal damage, empty and semi-derelict houses also provide cover for criminal activities which often has a negative impact on the local community.” said a PSNI spokesperson.
