Police investigating the road traffic collision that killed Cookstown man Victor Wylie are “keen to speak to the occupants of a blue coloured workers van that was in the vicinity”.

Mr Wylie’s tractor was said to have collided with a blue Honda 4x4 on the Moneymore to Cookstown Dual Carriageway on Friday, July 17 at around 9.30am.

Inspector Keith Hicks is appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision that has not yet spoken with police to contact officers in Cookstown or to the Collision Investigation Unit in Steeple Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.

“He is particularly keen to speak with the occupants of a blue coloured workers van that was in the vicinity of the collision,” a spokesperson said.

“It is believed this van may have travelled through Cookstown towards Moneymore on Friday morning.”

A 59-year-old man has been arrested and released by police investigating the incident.
