Police in Mid Ulster have urged people to be vigilant after needles were found in Moneymore.

In a Facebook post, Cookstown PSNI said they were on patrol in Moneymore after the worrying find.

“This evening we were checking local parks in the Moneymore area after recent findings by police of used needles,” said the police.

“This is so dangerous with small kids playing in these areas.

“Please report any similar activity to us. Help keep our kids safe.”

Earlier this week, it was revealed that a number of needles were found in Dungannon.

And last year, needles were discovered in Maghera close to a primary school.
