POLITICIANS have warmly welcomed the £100,000 resurfacing work being carried out at Coolreaghs Road in Cookstown following the announcement by Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy MLA.

Ulster Unionist Councillor Trevor Wilson said he wanted to congratulate Roads Service on having improved all access points into the town.

Cllr Wilson said he welcomed the work by Roads Service and the investment which has been ploughed in over the last 12 months,

“I want to thank Roads Service for all their effort,” he added. “All the roads into Cookstown have now been resurfaced.”

Also welcoming the announcement by Danny Kennedy MLA was DUP MLA McCrea.

“Having raised the need for these works to be carried out with Roads Service for some time, I am delighted that the Minister has agreed to provide the necessary funds of approximately £100,000 to allow these much needed resurfacing works on the Coolreaghs Road to begin,” he said.

The MLA said the Coolreaghs Road has been in need of repair for some time.

“I have no doubt this will be welcome by people who live in the area as well as those who travel these roads day and daily. I want to urge roads users to plan their journeys, taking into consideration these road works and the potential for delays,” he added.

The scheme is expected to take around two weeks to complete.
