Portglenone man charged with Ballymena murder

Richard McAuley told Coleraine Magistrates Court he understood the charge against him while a detective constable said he believed he could connect McAuley to the charge.

McAuley, from Townhill Road in Portglenone, is charged with the murder of 32-year-old Denise Dunlop on June 15 his year.

Miss Dunlop died at her home in Centuripe Avenue, Ballymena, early on Sunday after she sustained multiple stab wounds.

No bail application was lodged and McAuley was remanded into custody to appear in court again on 10 July via videolink.
