PSNI engage with retailers and wider community

POLICE in Magherafelt will be highly visible in the town centre all week as part of our efforts to engage with retailers and the wider community.

Area Commander Chief Inspector Sam Donaldson explains: “Establishing good working relationships with retailers is extremely important, especially in a community based town like Magherafelt. Understanding that business owners and staff are very busy we want to make it as easy as possible for them to hear about some of the services we can provide.

“Local officers will be visible in the town centre and on hand to offer advice and information on a range of issues from property security to counterfeit currency. They will also be happy to talk to you about the benefits of the PSNI Safe Shop scheme which has proved to be extremely successful in other parts of G District. Our Crime Prevention Officer can also discuss with you and your staff members the steps you can take to reduce shoplifting and keep employees safe.

“Our colleagues in the District Policing Partnership will join us in handing our leaflets and information and answer any queries you may have. Whether you are a business owner, employee or someone who regularly uses the town centre, please do not hesitate to ask us a question or find out more information about the policing service we deliver for you in the Magherafelt area.”
