AN information session on funding for community-led road safety projects will be held in Cookstown next week.
The Department of Environment has appointed CTA to deliver a programme of funding for 2013/14 with a total of £140,000 made available in grants for communities.
This funding will support individuals and community groups in developing and implementing initiatives, programmes and activities aimed at further reducing the number of people killed and seriously injured on our roads.
If you have concerns about road safety and can deliver an innovative, community-led road safety project then the CTA can provide support to help you achieve your goal.
The CTA is now inviting applications for road safety grants from the voluntary and community sector. Community, special interest groups and individuals can apply for grants of up to £15,000 to develop and run locally-focussed road safety projects.
To qualify, groups must be properly constituted, have a bank account and be able to complete the project by March 2014.
An information session takes place on Wednesday, May 29 from 10:30am to 12:30pm at RCN, Cookstown. Please contact the CTA office by May 24 to register your interest in attending an information session.
To find out more about the information sessions, receive an application pack or speak in more detail about your project, then contact Jayne or Sylvia at CTA on 028 9094 1661 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. An application pack is available to download from the CTA website: www.ctauk.org/roadsafetygrant.
The closing date for applications is Monday, June 17 at noon. Successful groups will be notified in July.
