Safety group launch motorsport project

The project will see County Derry rally team Murray Motors prepare and run a Subaru Impreza in the project which has been concieved and run by Constable McCosh of the PSNI.

The intiative is aimed at the 16 to 25 year old age group and will take the form of a series of the Motor Sport Association UK approved events where young people will compete in safe and disciplined grass roots affordable motor sport- ‘keeping the race in its place’ is the ethos of the project. Funding has been obtained from both safety partnerships for the project, which was launched at Nutts Corner Race Circuit on March 10th.

Drivers Mario Mikus and Adrian Catherwood took part. Both drivers had a great days fun and availed of valuable driving experience.

Further events will take place over the next few months with a total of 16 young people taking part.
