Mid Ulster MLA Patsy McGlone has welcomed measures to improve road safety along Coagh Road, Stewartstown.
The SDLP assembly member said Roads Service confirmed measures would be put in place following a site meeting arranged.
“A number of local constituents contacted my office after a recent crash on Coagh Road, Stewartstown, to highlight their concerns about safety on the road.
“There have been a number of incidents along this particular road over recent years and I asked Road Service to look at the situation and to investigate what measures could be introduced to improve road safety.
“Following a site meeting earlier this month, Roads Service have confirmed that they will be making repairs, and erecting new warning signs and markings along the road.
“These measures will alert road users of the dangers ahead and should improve road safety for other drivers and local residents.
“My office will monitor the situation, and I will continue to lobby for more measures to be put in place to further improve road safety along this, and other, rural roads.”
