A Facebook page purporting to advertise a teenage disco at Secrets nightclub in Magherafelt, is a fake.

In a statement posted on their genuine Facebook page, Secrets night club made clear that there would be no teenage disco on Friday night.

“We have stumbled across a FAKE PROFILE for Secrets Nightclub - it seems someone has very little to be at and has made a fake page telling you about a ‘Teen Night’ - at ‘Secrets-Club’ - this is 100% NOT HAPPENING!

“As the saying goes, ‘Imitation in the sincerest form of flattery’ - but this is just ridiculous.

“Firstly, if we had a new Secret to tell you about we would definitely teased you a little while first before revealing our brand new night...which would not be a ‘traffic theme’ teen disco. (How 2005).”

“Do not accept a friend request and get hyped about something that is 100% not happening.”

The PSNI also issued a statement on the fake Facebook page.

“This Facebook profile is advertising an under 18s disco on Saturday, April 4th. This is inaccurate.

“There is no underage event happening and anyone under the age of 18 will not be allowed into the premises mentioned,” the police said.
