TRADERS in Cookstown are calling for an extension to the one-hour on-street parking to give customers more time to finish their shopping.
With Cookstown dubbed the retail capital of Mid-Ulster, more and more people are coming from outside the district.
However, Ulster Unionist Councillor Trevor Wilson said Cookstown benefits more than any other town because it has free parking.
A spokesperson for Roads Service said it has no plans to change the curent one hour duration.
The MAIL spoke to traders in Cookstown to gauge their opinion on extending the time that motorists are allowed to park.
