MAGHERAFELT man Sidney Collins has returned home after another humanitarian trip to Romania.

Sidney spent four days driving across Europe to Cihei region in northern Romanian on behalf of the Smiles Foundation.

During his stay in the former communist state Sidney distributed clothes, food, toiletries and First Aid supplies to the most needy.

Most of the supplies he took out were donated by people in the Mid-Ulster area, some from England.

“It all went towards helping people who have nothing,” said Sidney, who has made several humanitarian trips to the country in recent years.

“I would urge people to keep the donations coming, I will be planning another trip in the near the future.”

As well as thanking those who contributed towards the trip by making donations, Sidney also thanked McBurney Transport for the use of a lorry to make the trip.
