Sinn Fein welcome Hawthorne estate move

SINN Fein Councillors Sean Kerr and Kate McEldowney have welcomed confirmation that the final stage of adopting roads in the Hawthornes Estate, Maghera will soon be completed.

“We are pleased to advise that DRD Roads Service have confirmed that remedial works have concluded and final resurfacing in this development will commence imminently.

“For too long the people of the Hawthornes have been living in an incomplete development, with poor street-lighting, inadequate sewerage provision and roads that are in urgent need of repair.

Residents will welcome the news that the Hawthornes Estate has been adopted by DRD Roads Service. Sinn Féin including Mid Ulster MLA, Francie Molloy, have been lobbying the department for this to happen for some time.

“This move will now mean that services such as roads, sewage and street lighting maintenance will be maintained by DRD Roads Service”.
