SPERRIN Integrated School in Magherafelt recently received recognition for promoting enterprise and entrepreneurship from Young Enterprise Northern Ireland.
Laura Kerr, Senior Development Manager for Young Enterprise’s North East area, explained that the school has been working with Young Enterprise for many years, to promote business and enterprise to pupils, to help them develop skills and qualities which will help them in their future careers.
“All Young Enterprise Programmes complement the new NI Curriculum, which challenges schools to add value to students’ learning experience, and they thoroughly deserve this recognition.
“We are delighted to present this Centre of Excellence Award to Sperrin Integrated, and look forward to working with them in partnership for many years to come,” she added.
Each year, the business volunteers inspire over 105,000 young people aged five to 25. These programmes empower the next generation with the confidence, ability and ambition to succeed in a rapidly changing global economy.
Mr Rowan Principal of Sperrin College said he was delighted to accept this award on behalf of the College.
