STAFF at Bradley’s Centra, Maghera, have raised a whopping £1,037 for their community partner Action Cancer, to help the local charity educate children in healthier lifestyles.
The fantastic fundraising pot was raised at a charity car wash event and customer donations, and will go towards Action Cancer’s Health Action programme for schools, which is sponsored by Centra and its independent retail partners across Northern Ireland.
Health Action has been designed to educate young people on healthy lifestyles, including exercise, healthy eating and sun safety to reduce their cancer risk in later life.
Action Cancer and Centra have had an award-winning partnership since 2003, to support and develop the charity’s health promotion service for schools and colleges. To date over 420,000 young people have taken part in the scheme with the help of £760,000 of funding from Centra stores.
