AN internationally renowned evangelist who is originally from Maghera has penned a book of tales inspired by the people of his native town.
Miles McKee, who now lives in Newbawn, Co Wexford, where he is planting a church, has produced these anecdotes in book format and will be officially launching the publication on Friday night in Walsh’s Hotel.
A founder member of the Maghera rock group Fruupp which was once rated the number one band in Ireland, Miles eventually became an ordained minister of the Gospel after devoting his life to Christ, and has travelled extensively throughout the world planting churches and evangelising.
Miles is a regular guest on the popular Revelation TV and for many years he hosted the worldwide radio broadcast ‘The Gospel Truth.’
“I loved Maghera but wanted to get out and explore the world,” he told the MAIL. “At the age of 21 I became a believer and I went into the ministry. I’ve travelled the world and have been to the Philippines, India and Australia.”
Miles will be having a launch of his book ‘True Tales of Maghera And Beyond’ on Friday in Walsh’s Hotel, Maghera at 7:30pm this Friday night and everyone is welcome.
“All these tales are based on real people who have passed on,” he said. “I started collecting stories when I was younger, so eventually I got round to producing them.”
