Translink has engaged directly with public representatives to discuss passenger transport in Magherafelt. The meeting also provided a platform to discuss Translink’s new ‘Life’s better’ campaign and its drive to recruit local passengers as ‘Translink Ambassadors’.
A range of transport matters were discussed at the special ‘Meet the Manager’ event including: the arrival of new interurban buses, local service performance and special discount fares available for local passengers.
Speaking at the event, Translink’s Robert Magill, said: “These sessions are invaluable in terms of providing politicians with an update on local services. It was also an excellent opportunity to inform representatives about our new ‘Life’s better’ campaign highlighting all the benefits of using the bus and train to give people a better lifestyle – from relaxing on board to using free WiFi, saving on car fuel costs to reducing journey times.
“As part of the campaign we are asking customers to consider becoming Translink Ambassadors – people who use the bus or train, are benefiting from the service they receive and would help us encourage other people to give it a go. “We have also recently enhanced our flagship 212 Goldline coach service - which has seen passenger numbers increase by over 10% in the past year - to operate every 10 minutes at peak times.”
