The road through Tullyhogue is one such road.

It was due to be resurfaced over the summer, but delays meant work on the road could not start until autumn.

Cllr Buchanan said: “I get complaints regularly about the state of carriageway surfaces from all over the constituency. I welcome the news that resurfacing and pre surface dressing preparation will take place on a number of roads over the incoming months, including Sherrigrim Road, Lurganeeden Road and Mulnagore Road.

“News that Main Street, Tullyhogue will also be upgraded in October or November 2016 is welcome news for residents. While welcoming news of maintenance works I will continue to lobby for further improvements and upgrades to the road system in the Cookstown area.”
