TRIBUTES have been paid to a popular 18 year-old who passed away suddenly at the weekend.
Conor McGall, from Magherafelt, was found dead on Sunday.
His body was discovered in a river close to the County Antrim village of Kells.
The teenager, who is originally from the Ballymena area, moved to South Derry a number of years ago.
He was a past pupil of Parkhall College, Antrim and Magherafelt High School.
Friends have been left reeling from his death, which happened after he went missing last week.
A number of heart touching tributes have been left on the student’s social media site.
One pal wrote: “A young fella that I’d say never really realised the impact he had on everyone he knew, never a dull moment with him, always was full of bizz anytime we was talking 2him.. Party hard up there an look after all ur family and friends”
Another said: “R.I.P Conor. You were a lovely fella & will be sadly missed. Thoughts & prayers go out to your family”
Police say they are investigating the circumstances of his death.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police in Ballymena recovered the body of an 18 year-old man from a river in the Kells area yesterday afternoon (Sunday 23 June).
“Police are investigating the circumstances of the death of the man.”
