A Cookstown man who passed away after battling cancer last year has had a tricolour glued to his headstone.

The despicable act on the grave of Jason Steele, in Cookstown Cemetery which is thought to have happened sometime over the weekend, has been condemned by both those in the community and politicians.

“Those responsible forget the daily suffering a family endures in mourning the loss of a loved one, never mind what this mindless action will have put them through,” said DUP MLA Ian McCrea.
