A village on the shores of Lough Neagh in Co Tyrone is to get its first-ever Christmas Tree this year.
Ardboe will switch on the lights on their treasured tree on December 8, after attempts in previous years to seek public funding, failed.
Local councillor Deirdre Mayo said the tree was the culmination of work between the local Credit Union, the council and Parish Centre.
“We hope that everyone will come out and enjoy this event,” said the councillor.
“And everyone will get a Santa hat to get them in the Christmas mood.”
