Mid Ulster’s unionist MLAs are urging voters to return their voting canvas forms to the Electoral Office by September 27 to avoid losing their votes at the upcoming elections next year.

In a statement, the DUP’s Ian McCrea said he could not “stress enough the importance of getting registered now as there will be elections in each of the next three years.”

He added: “I don’t want anyone to miss out on their right to vote in the coming years by failing to return their forms, so please take a few minutes to complete and return these forms before September 27. “

The UUP MLA Sandra Overend said: “With the European Parliament election and Shadow Council election for the new Super-Councils taking place next May... I would encourage everyone to ensure that they complete and return the form, so that you can be guaranteed the opportunity to have your say when the next election comes.”
