A family of five have escaped injury in a pipe bomb attack at Tobermore.
The incident happened around 12.50am on Tuesday in the Castle Park/Calmore Park area of the village.
The device was thrown at the rear of the property, causing damage to a door and window.
The occupants, two adults and three children, are understood to be unhurt.
Mid Ulster Ulster Unionist MLA Sandra Overend condemned the attack.
“I condemn unreservedly those responsible for this reckless act. I understand that the bomb exploded at a house in Castle Park in Tobermore but thankfully the two adults and three children inside escaped injury. Distress was also caused to neighbouring families and obviously I hope that all those affected make a full recovery as quickly as possible,” she said.
“Nothing can justify placing an explosive device at a house, especially one with children inside, and such actions must be condemned by everyone.
“Somebody out there knows who is responsible for this terrible act, and I would appeal to them to pass any information they have to the PSNI so that the culprits can be brought before the courts.”
