Seamus Heaney had been due to return to Magherafelt in three weeks time to open a poetry festival which he had helped name ‘On Home Ground’.

On Friday, The Mid Ulster Mail spoke to Eugene Kielt as he came to terms with the loss of a friend and literary giant.

The festival which will be held at the Laurel Villas guesthouse will still go ahead and is expected to be a celebration of Seamus Heaney’s work.
