THE Cookstown District of the Orange Order has 13 lodges, over 800 members and plays a significant role in the local community.
In this week’s Mid Ulster Mail, we take a special look at the Orange Order as final preparations are made ahead of this year’s Twelfth demonstration.
Trevor Wilson, the press officer for Cookstown District 3, says the Order has increased its role in the local community in recent years.
“We have ten rural orange Hall and the main town hall... the halls are very much a focal point of the community, and the community use them much more now than they ever did,” said Mr Wilson.
