SPARKLE, swords and surprises are expected at Springhill on the extended bank holiday weekend as the National Trust property hosts its first Princesses and Pirates event.
The event will feature children’s entertainment, a buried treasure trail, craft activities and for those who come dressed to impress, there will be prizes for the best dressed pirate and princess.
Springhill has also teamed up with national treasures Wallace and Gromit to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee weekend.
A Wallace and Gromit tea party will be held in the tea tent and the loveable duo’s new mini animation created specifically for the National Trust will for the first time ever, be screened outdoors.
The funny flick has been specially created for the National Trust festivities as part of their ‘Summer of Celebration’ and shows the pair preparing for the big weekend, by scaling the ladders to hoist the bunting up around a magnificent Trust manor.
As well as the debut of the mini animation, there will be Wallace and Gromit model making workshops with trained Aardman animators.
Pirates and Princesses will take place at Springhill on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 June from 1-5pm. Normal admission, National Trust Members free. For further information call 028 8674 8210 or visit www.nationaltrust.org.uk
