A woman pushed away a mugger who tried to snatch money from her in Magherafelt.
Police say there was an attempt to steal money from the woman as she walked along a laneway at the side of a grocery store leading from Lower Rainey Street to Highfield Road on September 27.
“As the woman was walking along an alleyway that leads to a grocery store, a man wearing dark jeans and a grey hooded top approached and shouted at her to hand over money,” said Sergeant Sam Young.
“She pushed him away and was able to complete her journey. The man was aged in his late teens or early 20s and was about 5ft 10 inches tall and of a slim build.”
