After an exhausting few weeks of parades with Killyman District LOL the members of Tyrone Somme Memorial Association can now draw breath but there are still plenty of events on the horizon.

The Association has received funding courtesy of Cookstown District Council and the first event will be in Cookstown Orange Hall on Wed 16th July at 8pm with a talk on WWI and an exhibition of artifacts and photos.

Members will meet at 7:30pm with the event open to the public from 8pm and free of charge so come along and bring the kids.

The Association also had ten members at the WWI Battlefields over the 1st July period, courtesy of Dungannon Friends of the Somme’s annual trip. Some members do wear both caps and the Tyrone Association would like to thanks Des Cumberland, Stanley Simpson, Andy Smyth and Stevie Davison for all their help and support on the trip, which was an emotional rollercoaster.
