A YOUNG South Derry man is fighting for his life following Sunday’s single vehicle crash on the outskirts of Tobermore.
Prayers are being said for John Francis Bradley from the Moneyneaney area of Draperstown who is being treated in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast for his injuries.
The 23-year-old Ballinascreen Gael was transferred from Antrim Area Hospital following the accident on the Draperstown Road, about half a mile from Tobermore.
A 21-year-old man was being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The blue Honda Accord car they were travelling in was found on its roof along the road around 8am.
Local Sinn Féin councillor, Brian McGuigan said: “The young men involved in Sunday morning’s car crash are in everyone’s thoughts and prayers in Ballinascreen, a parish with a close knit community with deep connection to Gaelic games and culture. Young Gaels in our parish are deeply shocked and upset by the dreadful news of this car crash as is everyone.”
SDLP Councillor Kate Lagan asked the wider community to remember the Bradley family in their thoughts and prayers at “this dreadful time.”
Parish priest for Ballinascreen Fr Seamus Kelly called on the congregation to pray for the recovery of the two men injured in the accident.
Meanwhile, the PSNI have appealed for anyone who has any information on the crash to contact them.
