COOKSTOWN SDLP Cllr Tony Quinn has expressed his concern over the delay by Road Service Lighting Division to install a new street lighting system at Chapel Road/Fortview Terrace on the grounds of lack of funding.
Cllr Quinn has reassured residents that he intends to pursue the much needed upgrade as a priority.

“Lighting Division finally conceded that in general terms Chapel Road/Fortview Terrace would benefit greatly from such an improvement scheme, however this was only followed by the admission that funding is limited and so such a development is unlikely to commence at the earliest as far out as 2010.

“I therefore find it difficult to accept the notion of lack of funding when so many pressing social issues have the potential to rebound from such a delay,” he told the MAIL.
