BALLINDERRY suffered their first league defeat of the season or indeed their first defeat in any competition when they went under to fierce rivals Dungiven in a hot tempered game at Ballinderry.

y star Eoin Bradley sent off on a second yellow card in the first half.
Ballinderry were minus some key men such as Kevin McGuckin, Enda Muldoon and honeymoon bound James Conway while Glenullin among others were short key defenders John O’Kane and Barry Mullan.
This defeat now sees Slaughtneil join Ballinderry on twelve points with Glenullin a point behind on eleven.
Five times the sides were level in the opening thirty minutes before Ruairi Boylan pointed twice, once from a free, in the two minutes of added time to give Glenullin a 0-07 to 0-05 advantage at half time at Shamrock Park.
Midway through the half Eon Bradley was shown a second yellow card and then a red one, Glenulin mentor Colm Rafferty was then shown a red card seven minutes from half time. It was a difficult half to referee, rash challenges a regular occurence.
Ryan Mcgeehan and Conleith Gilligan from a free pointed to level at 0-07 each six minutes into the second half but paddy Bradley and Ruairi Boylan from frees, and Terry Mullan pointed to put Glenyllin 0-10 to 0-07 ahead midway through the second half. twelve minutes from time Ronan McGuckin was shown a second yellow card, then the red one.
Gilligan and substitute Fabien Muldoon narrowed the gap to the minimum, Ruairi Boylan from a free and Fabien Muldoon exchanging points as Glenullin held on for victory.
The Ballindrry scorers were Conleith Gilligan 0-03 frees, Ryan McGeehan and Fabien Muldoon 0-02 each, James Bateson, Brian McGuckin, Kevin 'Moss' McGuckin 0-01 each.

Meanwhile Slaughtneil closed the gap with a 0-13 to 0-9 home win over Bellaghy after leading by 0-7 to 0-6 at half time.
The winners took a firm grip in the second half and with Paul Bradley deadly from frees they pulled away for a good victory.
Former county player Bradley pointed six frees and scored one form open play.
