WENDY Houvenaghel cruised into Saturday's first round of the 3000 metre pursuit at the Laoshan Velodrome in Beijing with a blistering performance in her qualifying heat.
The former Upperlands woman set a life time's best time of 3.28.443 ahead of GB team mate Rebecca Romera (3.28.64).

Her performance keeps her in contention for an Olympic medal in the final on Sunday.
