TOBERMORE boss Aidy McLaughlin predicts an "interesting season" ahead as his side continues its build up to their first match against Killymoon Rangers on August 2.
And contrary to speculation, the Fortwilliam Park outfit has managed to hold on to most of the squad which took them to fifth position behind winners Loughgall - their highest placing ever - in the Irish First Division last season.

McLaughlin's ri
ght hand man at the club – Sam Shiels – is taking a break from the game this season and has been replaced by Jim Scott.

Stephen Lamont has gone to Coleraine and Paul Owens may leave for Limavady United.

New faces at Fortwilliam will include Simon Logan, formerly of Moyola Park, Darragh Hanna (Ballymena), Matt McGaw (Portstewart), Paul Brown(Institute) and Aaron Walsh (Dergview).

"We've been training very hard over the last few weeks," said McLaughlin.

"The new season is coming fast this year but I'm happy with the squad's fitness level."

McLaughlin says they are aiming to pick up "a few points" from their opening matches.

Tobermore's facilities are currently being up-graded to meet IFA Championship standards and the club will ground share with Coagh United for a few of their opening matches.

In pre-season friendlies Tobermore play Mosside this Saturday (away); Institute, Tuesday, July 22 (away); Raceview, Saturday, July 26, at Fortwilliam; Coleraine FC, Tuesday, July 29, at Fortwilliam.
