Pre-season preparations continue for Sky Blues

First victory
THE first team won 3-1 against Portglenone away at Maghera last Thursday night. Hawe, Larkin and Devlin scored for the Magherafelt side.

The firsts have are at home this Saturday in a pre-season friendly against Fivemiletown FC. Kick off 2.30pm. A
nd they play Armagh City on Tuesday (July 22) in a pre-season friendly. Kick off 7.15pm. Both games at Spires Park.

The Linfield friendly is scheduled for Saturday (July 26) but this date could be changed to August 2, depending on how the Belfast outfit perform in the Champions League.

Ballymena United XI have also lined up a game at Spires Park for Tuesday (July 29).

Reserve friendly

THE reserves U21s travel to Maghera this Saturday in a pre-season friendly against Fivemiletown reserves. Kick off 2.30pm.

The reserves/athletic team play Cookstown Olympic at the Mid-Ulster Sports Arena, Cookstown, on Saturday, kick off 2pm.

Junior league

TEAMS in the Ballymena Junior League Second Division 2008/2009 which starts in August: Magherafelt Sky Blues Res, Antrim Rovers, Ballyclare Comrades Res, Ballyclare North End, Ballyclare United, Carnlough Utd, Cookstown Olympic Colts, Desertmartin Swifts, Dundrod, FC Ballynure Res, Newtownabbey 7’s Res, Red Star, Woodland, 14th Newtownabbey.

Club merchandise

A SELECTION of club merchandise, including jackets, jumpers, training T-shirts, kitbags, scarves and hats are now available at Sportique, Magherafelt.

Soccer school

IFA Nutty Krust Summer Soccer School will be held at Spires Park from Monday, July 21, until Thursday, July 24 (11am to 2pm). Cost £35.

Five teams

THE club are fielding five teams in the forthcoming season: firsts in NI Intermediate League; reserves in Coleraine Premier League; U21s in Ballymena Junior League; U15s in Coleraine Youth League; U13s Coleraine Youth League.
