Cookstown 37
Armoy 6
ARMOY travelled to Cookstown having only lost once all season setting up a top of the table clash.

Cookstown started the match well securing the kick off and running it deep in to the Armoy's half winning a penalty which was unsuccessful.

On
the '22' restart Cookstown again secured and their backline moved the ball well allowing Mickey McKeown to finish off a well worked move leaving Cookstown 7-0 after five minutes.

Armoy attacked the restart and with a larger pack made rucking difficult however when the ball came loose Eastwood was there to collect and break away for what seemed to be Cookstown's second but the referee signalled a knock on. Armoy again attacked the restart to receive a penalty which they scored leaving it 7-3 on 20 minutes.

Armoy continued to attack as Cookstown's defence causing Cookstown to concede a penalty bringing Armoy back in it at 7-6.

Cookstown started to turn on the pressure coming up to half time with a lineout deep in Armoy's half sending the ball out through the backline for center Eddie over to extend cookstown's lead to 14-6.

Cookstown never looked back, with their defence proving too strong and their backline too fast for the large Armoy side as Mickey McKeown struck again as did Eastwood and as Cookstown started to look too far out of reach the match turned sour with a few bust ups and the yellow carding of John-Paul Reah.

However, even a man down, Cookstown scored again through Marc Salley leaving them 34-6 out in front and with Armoy desperately trying to defend the last 10 minutes.

Cookstown won a penalty which Paul O'Neil slotted leaving Cookstown deserved winners in what was a physical match, with the victory making it seven wins in eight games for the Tyrone side.
