SOCCER: Sky Blues look to take cup form into league

Blues knockout Ardstraw
THE first team won 4-1 last Saturday at home against Ardstraw in the first round of the WKD Intermediate Cup. Goal scorers were Mallon, Stewart, Monaghan and Diamond.

On Saturday (November 14) the Blues are at home in the semi final of the NI Inte
rmediate League Cup against Oxford United Stars, kick off 1.30pm in Spires Park.

And on Saturday November 21 the Magherafelt side play Hollywood FC in the third round of the JJB Sports Irish Cup, kick off 1.30pm at Spires Park.

Penalty shootout

THE Reserves lost out in the penalty shootout after drawing 1-1 after extra time against Cookstown Olympic Colts in the first round of the Linda Welshman Cup. Goal scorer was M. Devlin.

Youth teams

U16s had no match last Saturday. The U16s are away to Institute in the Northern Ireland Boys FA Cup first round (date to be confirmed).

The U14s lost 5-1 last Saturday at home against Donegal Celtic U14s in the Mid-Ulster Youth League. The U14s are home against Coleraine U14s in the NI Boys FA Cup first round (date to be confirmed).

The U12s won 2-1 last Saturday away against Coagh United U12s in the North West/Coleraine League. Goalscorer was R. Young (2).

In the NI Boys FA Cup first round the U12s are away to Newry City U12s (date to be confirmed).

The U11s got a bye in the NI Boys FA Cup in the second round they play the winners of Larne FC U11s or Cookstown U11s.

Mini soccer

THE mini soccer centre is now closed for the winter and will reopen in March 2010.

Please keep an eye in the local paper as the club may hold an odd Saturday match over the winter at Meadowbank Arena. Check club website for updates.

El Classico

SKY Blues Old Boys (over 35s) meet every Wednesday night (7-8) at Meadowbank Sports Arena. Contact Brian Taylor for more details.
