MONDAY 4 August will see Springhill Boxing Club open for business for the forthcoming season.
Training begins where it is hoped the club will follow on from the success of last year when they secured 12 County Championships, 6 Mid-Ulster Championships, 6 Ulster Championships and one Irish Champion. Included in those accolades was the club’s f
irst ladies boxing champion, Grace York.
The club will be open for training on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays beginning at 7.15pm and finishing at 8.45pm and old and new members are welcome to attend.
The club wish to stress that according to changes in the health and safety and insurance regulations, it is regretted that the club will only be open to those wishing to take part in boxing and representing the club in all levels of competitions. Therefore those wishing to use the facilities for keeping fit will no longer be allowed to do so.
All boys and girls hoping to compete in competitions must, by the rules laid down by the AIBA, be medically passed fit by their doctor and apply for a boxer medical record book which can be done through the club.
Work has been on-going on refurbishing the club both inside and out but everything will be prepared and ready for the opening night.
Ladies Keep Fit: Classes will continue in the clubrooms situated on Chapel Hill beside the Primary School on Tuesdays and Thursday night. Admission is £3 for one night and £5 for two.
Everyone welcome.
