Toner wins Lions Golf Classic

MARTIN Toner was the overall winner of the Golf Classic organised by Cookstown and Magherafelt Lions Club at Moyola Golf and Country Club in Castledawson.
Toner received a piece of Tyrone Crystal and the Regan Tile Perpetual Cup for his efforts.

Second and third in the male category were Liam Hutchinson and Shane Loughrey respectively.

First Lady was Pauline Hutchinson and runner up was Joy Steenson.

First team winners were Pat Marshall, Aidan Shaw, Ivor Reid and Noel Reid. The second team winners were Denis McConologue, Pat McConologue, Trevor Glenn and John Kelly.

Completing the list of winners were Liam Craig and Danny Mullan for having the best first and second scores.

At the end of the proceedings, Emily Ferguson accepted a cheque for £1,000 on behalf of the NI Hospice and Mrs Pat Loughrey accepted a futher £1,000 on behalf of Marie Curie Cancer.

On acceptance of the cheques both ladies expressed thanks and gave a brief insight into the important role both organisations serve in the community.
