A BIG entry is expected for the RT Autoparts East Tyrone's annual Sperrin Challenge Leisure Touring Event being held this Saturday (August 3rd) starting at Cookstown Hockey Club at 10am.
The distances are 110km and 55km and both routes should provide a good testing days cycling.

THe major climbs are at Cullion Gap, 12 miles from the start and the steep ascent of Magherbrack between the Glenelly Valley and Barnes Gap that os being
used for the first time and where low gears will be needed.

The proceeds raised from entry fees will be donated to the RT Autoparts 2008 Charity Fund and the Keep Baby Katie Awake Appeal. If you feel up to the challenge, come along and enjoy a good day in the saddle whilst supporting some worthy causes.

For further information contact Rod David on on 867 65064 or go to www.easttyronecyclingclub.co.uk where details of the route are available.

Meanwhile the penultimate round of the Burrows Engineering Road Race League will be held tonight (Thursday) over four laps of the Rock/Sandholes/Pomeroy Road circuit starting at Rock GAA Grounds from 7.30pm. Richard Watters has a comfortable overall lead and looks set to retain the overall title.
