More than 230 runners completed the annual Maghera 10K, with Brian Campbell taking the top spot among the men in just over 33 minutes and Martsje Hell crossing the line in 38:53 to take the female first place.

The race and relay, which is organised by Mid Ulster District Council with sponsorship from HM Electrics and Kelly’s Eurospar, saw competitors from serious athletes to fun runners, run the course which loops around the town and ends at Maghera Leisure Centre.

There to present prizes to the winners was Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Linda Dillon:

“The weather was kind, local people came out to encourage the runners and there was a great atmosphere throughout the evening.

“I was delighted to present prizes to the winners in all nine categories, but congratulations go to everyone who took part, particularly those who were running and raising money for a good cause at the same time”.
