On his Facebook, Conrad said his latest win was only the beginning.#

“Woke up this morning with a big smile on my face after an emphatic night. Fantastic night for my whole team and I am very grateful and to be a part of it all. But fighting on a World Title undercard at home, LIVE on ITV4 is something you dream of and well last night I lived that dream and I soaked up every second. I took a big step up last night and took care of business..somebodies 0 had to go! Also my army of support last night was truly amazing, keeps getting better and better, you are all unbelievable, thank you!! This is only the beginning.”

Cummings went on the attack from the opening bell, working the body with some powerful hook and right-hand jabs straight to the body.

The young middleweight looks to be all about power as he remained on the front foot throughout with little resistance from his opponent who took some punishment on several occasions as Cummings kept him pinned up against the ropes.

As early as the second round, Cummings landed a barrage of clean connections through the defence of the Canary Islander, who to his credit took everything that was thrown at his and even managed to reply, throwing the odd uppercut from awkward angles.

But Cummings kept the pace up in the third round with more front foot boxing, before a big right hook early in the fourth appeared to spell the beginning of the end for the fading opponent.

Cumming dropped the ferocious pace, slightly, and made more room, picking his punches, but again the bloodied Spaniard took the punishment and then in the fifth, the McGuigan fighter, perhaps, strayed from the script looking to finish it early but Palenzuela made it to the bell.

A touch of showboating crept into Cummings performance in the sixth and final round but it was to be expected as the big-hitting middleweight appeared to be enjoying himself and was keen to put on a show in front of a live television audience.

Cummings again looked for that big punch to land as the fight came to a close. And it did, twice, but again Palenzuela somehow managed to stay on his feet and deservedly got to the bell.

But that was all he deserved as the contest finished with a six-round rout as the referee gave every round to Cummings 10-9 to record a 60-54 victory to take his fledgling unbeaten record to 6-0.
