Cookstown paired with Ulster rivals

THE draw for the Irish Hockey League group stages took place last week. Cookstown have been drawn in Group A.

They are joined by Ulster rivals Annadale and Instonians. Monkstown, Cork Harlequins and Pembroke Wanderers complete the pool.

As Ulster champions, the Reds are guaranteed to play three games at home next season. They will be familiar with all their opponents having played them all this season, apart form Pembroke Wanderers who they last played in their successful Irish Senior Cup campaign last season.

Group B on paper looks to be the most difficult group with Ulster giants Lisnagarvey and Banbridge pitting themselves against seasoned campaigners Glennane and Cork C of I. New comers Railway Union and YM will also be keen to progress.
