COOKSTOWN Olympic held their end of season dinner and awards presentation on Friday 20th April in the Dunleath Bar and would like to thank Gary Eastwood and the staff for the excellent menu that they provided.
The club are indebted to the Gary and the Dunleath Bar as they were the main club sponsors throughout the season and also provided after match refreshments.
The Chairman then got the presentation underway and the following were the winners. Chairman’s Award, Declan Doherty, Clubman of the Year Gerald Thornton, Young Player of the Year Mark Meenan, Leading Goal Scorer Ryan O’Neill, Managers Player of the Year Jonathan O’Neill, Players Player Conor O’Hare and Most improved player Liam Mullan.
Finally the Chairman closed the proceedings with his thanks to the players and management for their commitment during the past season. Indeed the effort has seen the team promoted as Division Two runners up and now they move into the first Division of the Ballymena league and next season will be taking on the reserve teams of Ballymoney Utd, Glebe Rangers, Ballyclare Comrades and Chimney Corner to name a few.
The club will be starting pre-season training around the last week of July and will be seeking to strengthen their squad. More details will be available on the clubs website www.cookstownolympicfc.co.uk
