Cookstown Olympic News

COOKSTOWN Olympic had the disappointment of not having a fixture against Grange Rangers last Saturday as they were unable to field a team which left Olympic kicking their heels as another fixture could not be arranged in time. The visitors cited the IFA decision to close the signing window on 31st August which has left them unable to sign any more players to supplement their squad.

Next Saturday Cookstown Olympic will be diverted away from league action when they entertain Parkview FC from the Newry League in the second round of the Belfast Telegraph Mid Ulster Shield. The match will take place at Beechway with a 2pm kick off.

Training will now take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All training sessions will take place on the grass at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena with an 8.00pm start on Tuesday and 7pm start on Thursday.

The jackpot will now be £300 for next week’s draw and tickets are available from any committee or team member.

Cookstown Olympic will be running a general knowledge quiz in the Dunleath Bar on Saturday 5th November as fund raising venture. The quiz will start at 7.30pm sharp with a maximum of 6 players per team and a £4 entry fee per person. The Dunleath Bar will also provide music from 10.30pm for those patrons who wish to dance the night away.
