Coagh United season has again been held up for another two weeks, due to cup matches and a terrible decision by the Northern Ireland Football League.
Last weekend Coagh were down to play Knockbreda but they were tied up in the Intermediate Cup due to a postponement last week.
This Saturday Coagh were down to play Ballyclare but they have an Irish Cup match.
The Hagan Park side had agreed with Larne to bring their match forward but the Northern Ireland Football League said no because this was the last match of the season and they wanted all teams to finish on the same day.
The football league tried this last season but had to put in an extra week to get all games finished meaning that all teams did not finish on the same day.
Coagh are already four matches behind and are forced into another free Saturday along with Larne because of this diabolical decision.
A further League headache for Coagh is that the Intermediate Cup quarter-final is down for the 8th March which means Coagh have only played one League match from the 18th January it’s time the Northern Ireland Football League took a good look at their fixture sequence and start listing to their own clubs who want to play football.
This has left Coagh United with a back log of League fixtures that will see them playing more than twice a week. Coagh Reserves have a hone fixture againest Annagh United this weekend, Coagh Sports Centre 2.15pm.
