CARNMONEY 3 COOKSTOWN OLYMPIC 1

Cookstown Olympic, sponsored by the Dunleath Bar, travelled to play Carnmoney FC last Saturday and came away beaten 3-1 in the league.

All the scoring came in the first half with Olympic missing two great chances to score in the first 10 minutes and they were made to pay as Carnmoney opened the scoring after 18 minutes.

Olympic thought they had equalized after 26 minutes as a Kieran Loughry shot was goal bound but somehow tipped around the post by the keeper. Five minutes later and Carnmoney went two nil up and Olympic were ruing their missed chances.

It was Olympic who were keeping up the pressure and Carnmoney had their keeper to thank as he pulled off two great saves on 36 and 40 minutes before Olympic eventually beat him to pull a goal back after 42 minutes from a Kieran Loughry shot from 15
yards.

Just before the half finished Carnmoney scored again for their 3-1 lead.

The second half saw Olympic with a lot of pressure and the Carnmoney keeper again saved two attempted one on ones but for all their efforts Olympic were unable to reduce the deficit and slipped further down the table after this away loss.
