Cookstown Olympic who are sponsored this season by the Dunleath Bar, travelled to play Antrim Rovers last Saturday and were unlucky to lose by three goals to two.

Olympic had a number of players unavailable and travelled without their full squad and were regretting missing a number of chances to score goals.

The match was pretty even with Olympic having two chances early on and Antrim having a goal disallowed for offside all within the first thirty minutes but that changed on 36 minutes as Crippy Eastwood put a ball into the box which the Antrim keeper spilled and allowed Oisin Maguire an easy tap in for Olympics first goal.

Olympic then conceded an equalizer after 44 minutes.

In the second half Olympic keeper Jamie O’Neill made a great save after 47 minutes but Antrim were not to be denied their second goal after 50 minutes.

The Cookstown men had a good chance after 55 minutes and then the match changed on 58 minutes when the Antrim forward went down unchallenged in the penalty area with Olympic waiting for a booking which turned into a penalty to put Antrim three one up.

Olympic then had two great chances for goals on 60 and 62 minutes but missed but kept up the pressure and eventually got their second goal on 82 minutes when Sean McVey put in a cross that Nigel Johnston knocked in from 10 yards.

The pressure was applied by Olympic on Antrim but they held out for the win.
