Seapatrick Reserves 6
Cookstown Olympic 3
Cookstown Olympic, sponsored this season by Moe’s Bar, Cookstown, travelled to Banbridge last Saturday to play Seapatrick Reserves in the second round of the Mid-Ulster Shield and came away with a six three loss.
The score line was a true reflection of the home team’s dominance especially in the first half when they scored 5 goals without reply, and it was a very lacklustre performance from Olympic who were always second to the ball and giving too much space to Seapatrick who are a good passing team.
Olympic did manage to lift their game in the second half even though Seapatrick made it six nil before an own goal and scores from Darren McCabe and Rory McGranaghan at least got Olympic off the mark. The home team were then happy to control the match to the finish and move into the third round.
Olympic: Jamie O’Neill, C O’Reilly, E McSloy, Jonny O’Neill, R McGranaghan, R Scullion, R O’Neill, L Mullan, R Devlin, M Meenan, and L Hoy. Subs M O’Hare, P McVey and D McCabe.
